    They don’t give a damn about our human rights.
    They are not RIGHT – they’re not good, true, correct, moral, desirable, preferable, honorable, or good. They are wrong about almost everything. They are the WRONG.
    They are the Far Wrong! The ALT-WRONG.
    We all marvel at how BRAINWASHED they seem.
    This word is part of that process of brainwashing.
    We speak, hear, read, think and write it – MILLIONS of times, over and over.
    Language and words are powerful!
    This is a HUGE change we can all create at once – and it is right on the tips of our tongues, costs no $$$, is risk-free, and sends a message of truth and reality in this “post-truth’ era.

  7. Track what your state legislature is doing. Support the bills you like and fight the bills that need to be stopped. Often bills are written by lobbyists and submitted by legislators who are not fully informed. Redline the changes you want made to proposed legislation and then go defend your proposed changes in person.

  10. The number one reason Drumpf got elected is the dems failure to recognize HRC as a flawed candidate and refusal to acknowledge Bernie’s momentum and popular vote wins. The changes need to happen within the DNC. No one listened when Michael Moore tried to warn us. No one paid attention to middle class Americans that struggled with wages…WAGES-not jobs. Because Obama got unemployment down below 5% but wages continue to stay low as corporations and execs raise prices of Epi pens and their own salaries. Anyway…lets have an action step to get the dems to become the progressives.

    1. OH FFS. Is there any such thing as a candidate who is NOT flawed? Michael Moore has a lot to regret right now because he was among the “progressive” men – Sander, Reich, Maher – who never happened to notice that in their eyes, the biggest “flaw” Hillary had was that she is a woman. Misogyny and sexism were absolutely rampant in this election and they have given us this lethal nightmare. An “action step” to save this world would be for all the men who have never actually given real thought to the terrible reality that we are living in a male-dominated world in which women are routinely and systematically subjugated – with violence – to apply their intelligence to this chronic and deadly injustice we all live with every single day and from which men benefit and profit. “Progressive” would include transforming such an insane system into one with actual balance. Then maybe we’d have a shot at civilization, peace on earth, and a future for life on Earth.

    2. I always have to point out the flaw in this argument. FACT: Hillary won the popular vote in the primary and in the election. More people wanted Hillary than any other candidate. That’s just the way it was. All you have to do is check the numbers.

    3. From a progressive who has been fighting for economic justice and all the other justices for over 50 years this comment shows such a lack of knowledge of real politics and even real life!!! I love Bernie and agree with almost all his issues but the Republicans had books ready to crucify Bernie. He had baggage. One of which is his staying a Socialist which kills any candidate outside Vermont or the city council of Seattle. Hillary was a victim of 30 years of hateful attacks and still won the popular vote by 2.6 million, one of the biggest margins in history. Her campaign made mistakes. One of which was not listening to Bill who urged them to spend time in rural and other areas of the Midwest. The other was not talking about the great programs she supported and letting her surrogates do the attacks on Trump. Neither Bernie nor Hillary probably could win the Electoral College with the voter suppression and fraud that went on. Does Jason really believe that Comey and the FBI would not have sabotaged a Socialist ???
      st getting to the White House??? Obama got the country out of the Bush Great Recession and wages were rising due to the tightening job market of falling unemployment. Bernie and his crowd should have been out campaigning for and raising money for Democrats for Congress, thereby helping Obama get the country moving faster.

  11. 1 of 3 additional suggested actions…when buying gifts for those you love that “have everything”, either 1) make a donation to an organization that supports issues important to you (and hopefully your gift recipient) from ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center to FreePress, NPR, NRDC, WWF, etc. or 2) buy them a subscription to help support a free, independent press such as the NY Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, etc.

  15. #15 is extremely important, but needs revision: People in DEEP RED states should cast absentee ballots in states where their vote actually counts as well as those in deep blue states. Also, it is easy to set up a UPS box and register in these states – millions of votes are wasted every election because voters don’t strategically cast their votes in states where their votes would be effective.

  18. We need to get active at the local level. Pressure city councils to take city monies out of banks that invest in the fossil fuel industry (like Minneapolis is doing). Join groups like Progressive Democrats of America and the Sierra Club and get involved. Participate in demonstrations against everything Trump is doing. We need to be actively and peacefully protesting as long as it takes to get these right wing corporate extremists out of OUR WHITE HOUSE!

  19. I’ve seen several suggestions for a peaceful protest on January 20th, Inauguration day. Leave the TV off all day and all evening. (I’d not planned on watching anyway). 30 million TVs off for the day will be noticed. Bigly.
    From now until election day, watch the news on the BBC, CBC and DW. You’ll get better and less biased information.

  20. Vote every day with your wallet. Don’t support Trump-owned businesses. I’m sure a complete list will be available at some point, but at least don’t stay at Trump resorts. That’s an app idea: one that helps you I.D. his businesses at the store.

    On Inauguration Day, don’t buy a thing. Not one. Or as close to that as you can come. Call in sick to work if you can get away with it. If enough Americans don’t work or buy, it will register as a huge vote of “no confidence” in Trump’s America. (Hugh. LOL.). But always vote with your wallet. Believe it or not, boycotting products and companies creates the loudest voice in power’s ear because it can affect their bottom line, and anything that does that, gets attention.

Many agree that the media was partly to blame for the election because they did not call out Trump, did not adequately cover the issues, or went for sensationalism because it sold papers or got them clicks. All the more reason to support comprehensive news reportage by journalists and outlets determined to go beyond sound bites. Two worthy of support are ProPublica (non-partisan investigative reporting done often in conjunction with other papers) and Democracy Now! (investigative reporting from a progressive perspective).

  27. Get everyone you know to vote for every democrat on the ballot in two years. Take back our government. We may have had the presidency for the last six years, but the republicans owned the government. It will take forever to undo what trump does so please, please ensure everyone you know votes for senators and house representatives. That is where the power is!   28. Nice list, and I can see it growing to well beyond 99 ways. I’m a bit bummed whenever I see “wind and solar” being promoted as the only ways to fight climate change in the energy sector. We need all zero- and low-carbon sources on deck. So I might add this one: If you are willing to be more open-minded about the runaway biggest producer of low-carbon electric power — nuclear power (and I know I won’t get a whole lot of takers on this one) — encourage your legislators to support advancement of this vital technology. Why? Because we actually stand a decent chance of getting Republican support, along with that of some really fine Democrats like Cory Booker, Al Franken, and Sheldon Whitehouse. Oh, and also this cat named Barack Obama. Work the state level too, to keep viable plants from closing early. (Remember also that it’s a poke in the eye to the fossil fuel industry.)

    I might also point out that you’ve got “tell Senate Dems to oppose all Trump’s SCOTUS nominees” in there twice. The second one is better and more descriptive.

    1. Electricity from coal and wind is now cheaper than electricity from coal and this trend is accelerating. Google “NOOR solar plant” and you’ll see why coal mining companies are going bankrupt (Peabody for example).

  31. Other ways to vote with your wallet: Don’t like the faux news coverage provided by Fox News or others? Find out their sponsors, write to them and tell them you will not buy their products as long as they support faux journalism. CC the news outlet in question. Share your letter on FB, Twitter, any social media outlet you are on. Call/write the station when faux news people show bias, name names. Don’t let them continue to normalize bad behavior…make them accountable to the public for their actions.

    1) Ranked choice voting – it just passed in Maine
    2) National Popular Vote interstate compact
    3) Automatic registration (OR’s way of doing it)
    4) multi-seat districts based on proportionality
    5) election day a holiday/on a weekend

    – Write to stores that carry Trump brands asking them to drop them.
    – If your company is planning to hold an event at a Trump hotel or casino, create a petition requesting that the firm pick another venue as the signers find the Trump choice objectionable.

It’s important to read sources from more than one point of view, if only to fend off accusations from friends that you are getting all your news from liberal sources. The WSJ leans conservative but provides far more respectable journalism than Fox, Brietbart, the Blaze, etc.

Most have no idea and blacklist Breitbart for ad placement immediately when they find out. Cutting off Breitbart’s ad revenue and pushing for greater transparency from ad placement companies are both worthy goals. Also it is tremendously satisfying to know that you personally have been instrumental in keeping ad dollars from reaching Bannon’s company.

    2) Katherine Clark (D, MA) has filed House Resolution 6340, the Presidential Accountability Act, which would extend the conflict of interest provisions that govern Congress to the president and vice-president. The bill has 77 co-sponsors, only one of whom is a Republican. It has been sent to two subcommittees within the Judiciary Committee:
    ↪ Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations
    ↪ The Constitution and Civil Justice
    Find your representative’s contact info on govtrack.us and call him/her. Ask the staffer who answers to encourage your rep. to co-sponsor HR 6340. Call members of the subcommittees and ask them to get it out on the floor for a vote immediately. Call the Republican who has co-sponsored the bill, Reid Ribble, and thank him.

    3) In the Senate, Ben Cardin (D, MD) has filed a resolution, S.Con.Res. 56, clarifying that Trump’s current conflicts would violate the Emoluments Clause without specifying a remedy. That resolution has 27 co-sponsors, all Democrats. Call your senators and ask them to support this.

    4) A great site for tracking legislation, getting contact info for Congressmen/women or looking up their voting records, and finding out who’s on what committee is http://www.govtrack.us. It’s non-profit, bipartisan, user-friendly and well designed. Check it out and consider making a donation to support it.

    5) Make a donation to Wikipedia.

    3) Vote with your wallet – no shopping at Carl’s Jr., no Walmart, etc.

  43. Ruin Trump and cronies: Sell your fossil fuel stock if you have any. The future of oil or coal companies look gloomy anyway – plenty of bankruptcies in 2016 and more to come. Switch to a hybrid or electric car or to public transportation. Install solar panels.

  46. I like # 57 – too many people are being disenfranchised, including in some states that barely went for Trump. I plan to recruit a friend to go to Wisconsin and volunteer to help people get the required identification to register. It’s shameful that the Republican idea of democracy features keeping citizens from voting.

  47. If you want Trump supporters to reverse next time, it won’t happen if you shame them as inadequate humans. No human responds to that. Walk in the shoes of the rural folks rather than hating, demeaning, and stereotyping them. Many of them did not vote for Trump, many of them have been progressing for years towards carbon sequestration, restored water quality, returning pollinators, all while producing local and regional environmentally restorative food for all. If you don’t know how they are doing this, or don’t see the progress they’ve made, then research beyond the stereotyped memes about them and find out before insisting your intelligence is higher and they are all beneath you. By making them worthy and wanted, you’ll go much further than stomping on them as lesser-class humans.
